Hand rank in Poker
A poker hand is a combination of five cards. If a regular 52-card deck is used there are 2 598 960 possible hands. It is with these hands players wager and bet their chips in a poker game. The player that shows the best hand at showdown wins the pot. The suits of the deck 
have no value.
Hand categories
High Card
A hand that does not belong to any other category is valued by its highest card. If two hands with the same high card are being compared, the next highest card is used as tiebreaker.
Pair
Two out of five cards have the same value plus three unrelated cards. In case of a tie, the highest unrelated card is used as a kicker. First the highest kicker is compared, then the second highest and so on.
For example:
Two pair
Two cards of same value plus two cards of another value and a fifth card being the kicker. If two or more players have the same highest pair the low pair is used to determine a winner. If the lower pair is the same, the kicker is used as the tiebreaker.

Three of a kind
Three cards with the same value and two unrelated cards. At the showdown the two unrelated cards are used to determine a winner in case of a tie.

Straight
All five cards are in numerical sequence. If there is a tie, the straight with the highest card wins.

Suit
All five cards are of the same suit. To determine a winner among suits, the highest card is used, then the next highest and so on.

Kak
